Your appointment

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

  • by phone
  • face to face at the surgery
  • by text or email

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.

  • If you have a mobile phone registered with us, we will send a text the day before your booked appointment. If you do not wish to receive text messages, please let the surgery know.

Cancelling or changing an appointment

Waste of appointments by patients not attending without cancelling in sufficient time to offer the appointment to someone else is taken very seriously.

Patients who do not attend an appointment and fail to cancel it, will be sent a letter warning them that they could be removed from the practice register.

To cancel your appointment:

  • use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
  • using the GP online system – eConsult
  • phone us on 0191 406 7057, Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 6pm
  • reply CANCEL to your appointment reminder text message
